Second Lives is an annual promptathon giving a second chance to people, places and things that canon killed off or left by the wayside (and a starring role to supporting characters). Our third round got under way this week, and we have a bunch of SGU prompts that we'd love to see filled. All types of fanworks are welcome, and we have prompts specifically for vids and specifically for art.
Come give new life to the things the ptb abandoned! The posting period runs through April 30th, and we'll be open after that for unprompted lost-characters and happy-ending fics and other fanworks.

For those of you in the vicinity of New York City, or if you happen to be there this week, the short film "A Weekend to Remember" featuring Louis Ferreira and Bradley Stryker will play at the SOHO International Film Festival this weekend! Bradley Stryker, producer of the movie which Louis did in 2010 just did an interview with Ferreira Fest, and you'll be able to read all about it in Ferreira Fest 28 very soon! Let's keep our fingers crossed that the movie does well at the festival and racks up a few more honors. Some of you may remember Bradley as the ill-fated Sgt. Curtis from Stargate Universe. Bradley has been busy making movies, and several of them have included SGU alumni.

sgu_challenge will is hosting a Big Bang challenge with sign ups for writers running until April 28th and for artists until August 4th. Stories will be at least 10K in length and be accompanied by at least one piece of art. Posting will start on September 9th. This is a ship/non-ship friendly event welcoming gen, het, slash or moresome stories of any genre!
Have a story you want to get out there and just need that little push to help you along? Come join us!
